Pedal Pusher

My Homemade Flight controls.

Well the day has come.  The Saitek X45 has been completely transformed!  It wasn’t easy.  I have to say, I don’t know which was harder, building the throttle, or the pedals.  The pedals were completely made from the rudder control board in the throttle.  It measures about 4 inches by 2.5 inches.  That’s not much to work with.  The actual slider has only about 3/4 of a inch of movement on each side.  I compensated by mounting the board low and using long shafts to the pedal.  This worked out perfectly, for size and function.  I ended up with about 8 to 10 inches of movement in the pedals.  Finally, I finished off the design with flat camo green paint for an authentic AH-6 Littlebird look.  This is just the beginning!  You won’t believe what’s next!

Was you born in a Barnes

The Barnes Akers Simpit.
A few years back a couple of gentlemen, by the name of Peter Akers and Michael Barnes, wanted to produce a simple but effective simpit.  There design was for the average guy who didn’t have a lot of tools, time or money.  Since I don’t have any of those things, I’m sold!  Their pit can be assembled and disassembled in a matter of minutes and is adaptable to different heights of people.  Little did they know that their design would become the standard to which 90% of the pits built would come from.  So if you don’t have a clue how to start, then don’t worry,  the planning process has already been done!  I’ll tell you what, I’ll even provide a link.  Click here!

As I have said in the past, you have to have some knowledge about how to use power tools.  If you don’t know how to use power tools, then do not attempt this project.

Welcome to Sonic Boom Simulations!

My goal is to create a unique home flight simulator that will bring an almost true to life experience for the user.  I have spent 2 years researching this project and with my 30+ years of computer experience; I hope to soon have an affordable, functional, and well made flight simulator.  Until the simulator has been finalized, I will use this website to talk about aviation and computer related topics.  Be sure to subscribe to my page, because you won’t want to miss a single post!
